Third Regional Workshop on the Use of WOAH Standards to Ensure and Facilitate Safe International Trade in Terrestrial and Aquatic Animal Commodities in Europe

Header

The training workshop is organised by WOAH Regional Representation for Europe with the support of the European Union and is part of the ongoing collaboration to strengthen the practical implementation of WOAH international standards in the context of safe international trade of animals and food of animal origin.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) develops international standards to improve animal health, animal welfare, and veterinary public health worldwide, by preventing the spread of animal diseases and zoonoses through international trade, while avoiding unjustified sanitary barriers. These standards constitute the main international reference for Veterinary Services and Aquatic Animal Health Services when defining and implementing sanitary measures governing the international movement of animals and animal commodities.

Veterinary Services and Aquatic Animal Health Services play a central role in ensuring the sanitary safety of international trade, through their responsibilities in disease prevention and control, risk analysis, certification, and official assurance systems.

The workshop consists of three stages:

  1. E-learning
  2. Introductory webinar
  3. In-person sessions

The agenda of the workshop:
