The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), namely the OIE Standards Department, and the OIE Regional and Subregional Representations in Europe (Moscow, Nur-Sultan and Brussels) held the first virtual sessions of the regional training webinar “OIE Standards: Facilitating safe international trade” for OIE Delegates of 53 Member countries from Europe region, and their designated senior officers involved in the area of risk assessment or risk management related to import or export of animals and animal products. In total, more than 100 experts were registered to attend this capacity building seminar.
This regional webinar is co-funded by the European Union (DG SANTE, European Commission Directorate General Health and Food Safety).
The purpose of the webinar is to transfer knowledge and understanding of the role of OIE international standards in improvement of animal health, animal welfare and veterinary public health, including one heath, and how to apply this knowledge when setting sanitary measures to ensure safe trade of animals and animal products.
