The Terrestrial Animal Health Code of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH, founded as OIE) provides standards for the improvement of animal health and welfare and veterinary public health worldwide, including through standards for safe international trade in terrestrial animals and their products.

The Code is regularly updated to remain relevant, and the Terrestrial Animal Health Standards Commission (TAHSC) strongly encourages Members and International Organisations that have a Cooperative Agreement with WOAH to participate in the development of our International Standards by submitting comments on TAHSC’s reports and on relevant annexes of these reports.

We held a cross-regional webinar for Europe, Africa and Middle East on December 15th, to increase the engagement of our Members in the standards setting process and strengthen the exchange of information between the TAHSC and Members.

Dr. Etienne Bonbon, the President of the TAHSC gave a presentation (downloadable version at the bottom of the page) to inform our Members on texts circulated for comments, their background and rationale. Dr. Bonbon also provided information on how to submit comments and reminded that previous editions of The Code can be accessed on our global website.

The next TAHSC meeting will be held in February 2023.
