The 9th Stakeholders consultation meeting of the WOAH Platform on animal welfare for Europe took place in Brussels on 19th June 2024.
The objectives of the meeting, in line with the previous one, were to report on the implementation of the Platform activities carried out since the last meeting held in June 2023 and present the activities to be implemented under the 4th Action Plan for 2024 ‑ 2026.
Stakeholders were invited to comment on the Platform’s work and report on new and planned activities in the five priority topics—transportation, slaughter, dog population management, disasters, and working equids—and suggest possible additional initiatives to be taken in the framework of the Platform activities or any other activity they deem important to share.
Stakeholders and partner organisations present at the meeting: AnimalhealthEurope, COPA-COGECA, Donkey Sanctuary, Eurogroup for Animals, European Commission – DG Sante, European Federation for Animal Health and Sanitary Security (FESASS), European Livestock and Meat Trades Union (UECBV), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Four Paws, Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
