The 20th meeting of the Standing Group of Experts on African Swine Fever (SGE ASF20) took place in a face-to-face format on the 3rd of October 2022 on the margins of the 30th Regional Conference of the WOAH -Europe region. Twelve SGE ASF members participated at the meeting along with more than 80 representatives and experts from Member Countries of the European Region.
The participating Member Countries of the SGE ASF for Europe briefly presented their national epidemiological situation regarding ASF, focusing on the changes since the last online meeting in February 2022.
The SGE ASF20 produced a set of recommendations. Amongst these, it was highlighted that:
The twenty first meeting (SGE ASF21) of the Standing Group of Experts on African Swine Fever in Europe under the GF-TADs umbrella should be held in face to face format in Belgium, in June 2023. The exact date and the modalities of the meeting will be confirmed at a later stage depending on the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic.
