The welfare of animals during transport was identified as one of three priority topics in the first (2014-2016) and remained a priority topic in the second (2017-2019) and third (2021-2023) Action Plans of Platform on Animal Welfare for Europe. Those Actions Plans include various complete and complementary activities building activities for Veterinary Services aiming at improving animal welfare during transport in line with the Terrestrial Animal Health Code.
