In accordance with the initial Concept Note establishing the Platform in 2013 and the Terms of Reference adopted by the Regional Commission for Europe in November 2020, the Platform’s governance is entrusted to a Steering Group.
The Steering Group is composed of a member of the Bureau of the Regional Commission for Europe, Delegates from three non-EU/EFTA and two EU countries, a representative of the European Commission, a representative of the WOAH Headquarter and a representative of the WOAH Collaborating Centre on animal welfare for Europe.
The WOAH Sub-Regional Representation in Brussels provides the secretariat of the Steering Group. The Steering Group meets every six months under the chairmanship of a member of the Bureau of the Regional Commission for Europe.
